January /February are always exciting times for retail…OK its ridiculously quiet but we do get to go to the trade shows in Ireland / England and if you are lucky Frankfurt. These trade fairs bring together the lastest trends in the gift and Craft industry.
For spring……gone are the deep tones of winter ,everything lightens up and ‘white ‘ no longer as cold as ‘snow’ but reflects freshness, evoking holidays ,there is nothing as wonderfulas a white handbag for the summer….our latest delivery of bags brought an array of pale spring bags ,dusky pinks, silvers, whites and soft blues as well as stronger colours .Yellow is a great trend for this year especially mixed with pale mink ,hints of yummy orange and hot pink will also bring the sunshine to your wardrobe . Much of the fashion jewellery seems to offer soft tones or ventures to the other extreme of strong bold colours.
When I go to the shows I try to think of my customers ,their styles ,personalities, I think of what I would wear ,what Dee, Mag’s ,Mary or Kit would enjoy wearing (Ps that’s the names of the fab staff at Gallery Crafts) so if I please any of the above then I have achieved my goal which is to offer customers a variety of styles to suit all tastes.
The importance of buying Irish is obviously very important and for this reason I do my best to bring in as much Irish made or designed products as possible. In jewellery we stock Alan Ardiff , Blaithin Ennis ,Scribble & Stone ,coming soon are Aidan Symth and a few other which i will describe to as they come in .Other Irish products available at Gallery Crafts are Potter Louis Mulcahy, Colm De Ris , Wild Goose, Siobhan Steele, McNutts ( blankets) ,The Button Studio,Max Benjamin ,Orla Walsh, Torc Candles, Green Monkey, Orla Kiely,Celtic Candles and we also have a wonderful inspiring range of Ceramics sculptural pieces coming in.
Will keep you posted with new arrivals to the store as they come and my aim is to introduce you to the work and the designer/makers of true creativity that will bring style to you and your home. Check out my facebook and twitter pages to see images of all our stock.
